Starry Cake for Extended Family Birthday Celebrations over Chinese New Year 2014

In my large extended family, we have a few birthdays in January and February every year. 

My uncle, 2 aunts, sister and son, to be exact. 

My mom requested for a buttercream cake, so we can all celebrate together over Chinese New Year.

Such a joy to see the young and old, all enjoying my cake!

Sean Jacob's 10th Birthday Cake

Birthday cakes can be simple and cute. 

I made this as a surprise gift for my eldest son's classmate. 

We planned for a class gathering and it happened to be Sean Jacob's birthday!

A medium square chocolate cake covered in blue fondant, 

decorated with 10 bright yellow stars as Sean Jacob was turning 10!

Eliza's 2nd Starry Birthday Cake

Apart from the Mickey and Minnie theme cupcakes, we also made a starry birthday cake for Eliza's 2nd birthday.

This was for the birthday celebration at home. 

No one can have too much cake and there's no party without a nice birthday cake!

A simple buttercream cake, dressed with rainbow coloured stars at the base and stars in ascending sizes on the top. 

Plus birthday girl's name on stars too!

Happy 2nd birthday, Eliza!
